This commission was based on a clients love for both the blue heron and beauty of his magnificent view of Grenada Lake. A tiny island sits amongst the warm reflection of a brilliant pink, turquoise, violet and red sky on the rippling red water at sunset. The trees in the distance are illuminated by a disappearing sun that generates one more hour of life on the water.
Vivid yellows, purples, greens, turquoises and reds lead you down a shadowy path of an early fall morning. As the leaves change, the remnants of summer cover the ground, giving us a closer look at the majestic colors. While most of the world is still sleeping, this painting represents a moment not everyone knows about.
Multiple layers and heavy texture are used to create the effect of running water in this comissioned landscape. Multiple layers of violet and copper are applied to the large stones to add depth. Deep greens shadow a tree filled background, where hints of a rope bridge can be seen hanging above.
